Marble Fruit Series — Banana

The Marble Fruit Series by Trine Guldager for Autumn Cph explores the transformation of familiar, everyday forms through material and craft. Each banana is made from Carrara marble in collaboration with a fifth-generation marble workshop in Pietrasanta, Italy, and painted by hand with natural pigments.

The banana carries a particular history of movement and transformation. Harvested green and ripened through time and travel, it connects cultivation, trade and exchange across cultures and continents. In its ripe form, it represents fulfilment, nourishment and abundance — the completion of a journey from growth to maturity.

Translated into marble, this transient moment becomes permanent. Variations in shape, colour and surface are retained as part of the making process, so no two pieces are identical.
