Marble Fruit Series — Lemon

The Marble Fruit Series by Trine Guldager for Autumn Cph explores the transformation of familiar, everyday forms through material and craft. Each lemon is made from Carrara marble in collaboration with a fifth-generation marble workshop in Pietrasanta, Italy, and painted by hand with natural pigments.

The lemon has long carried associations with vitality, clarity and abundance. Its vivid colour and sharpness connect it to energy and renewal, while its history across Mediterranean cultivation, trade and still-life painting places it within a longer cultural history of exchange and representation.

Translated into marble, the fruit’s fleeting freshness becomes permanent. Variations in shape, colour and surface are retained as part of the making process, so no two pieces are identical.
